After the Lockout was lifted, and players went to training camp, Hogan failed his physical with the Panthers. He did not participate in any practices or Pre-season games. He did work with trainers on the sidelines trying to get his knee healthy. Hogan found that while he can run at full speed, "[the knee] swells up a bit," Hogan said when he tries to make cuts.
The Panthers placed Hogan on the PUP list to start the season. That means that he has to sit out the first six games of the season while his knee continues to heal. The Panthers certainly need Hogan back. Hogan also knows that he in the Panthers long-term plans. They are thin at corner without him.
Hogan will be allowed to play on October 23 against Chris Neild and the Washingon Redskins getting him closer to that one year healing period for his ACL injury. Hogan said on Wednesday he expects to play in that game.
